35 Students Compete at HOSA Convention
Health Occupation students attended the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) convention on March 1-3 at the Decatur Convention Center.
Of the 35 IVVC students who competed, the following students advanced to round two in the competitions listed: Savannah A., Serena (dental science); Katelyn F., Leland (health career photography); Lindsay L., Yorkville (sports medicine); Delaney M., Yorkville (clinical nursing); Katie M., Yorkville (clinical nursing); Keaton R., Yorkville (sports medicine); and Jocelyn R., Yorkville (nursing assistant).
These teams progressed to the second round of competition in CPR/first aid: Lilyemma A., Yorkville, and Tessa Barker, Indian Creek; Julia B. and Michelle C., both Yorkville; Cassie C. and Rey C., both Yorkville; Abby D., Yorkville, and Bryanne M., Sandwich; Jaycee F. and Katie M., both Yorkville.
One team progressed to the second round in the health career display competition: Lexi A. and Katelynn T., both Sandwich.
These students were recognized as the top 10 in their competition: Kaitlyn F., Leland (health career photography) and Jocelyn R., Yorkville (nursing assistant).
Delaney M., Yorkville, placed 3rd in clinical nursing. This prestigious award qualifies Delaney to attend the HOSA international competition which takes place in June.
