On Saturday, April 8th, the IVVC Sports Medicine class hosted its 2nd Annual 5k Run/Walk. This year’s theme was “The Fast and the Furriest”, and the event was open to pets. With over 80 two-legged participants, and many four-legged walkers, the event saw participation more than double from the first year.  The weather decided to cooperate as well, and everyone enjoyed the morning.

Sports Med students helped in the planning and execution of the event, including some “dog-sitting” on race day. The race benefited Just Giants, Inc., a local rescue that caters to giant breed dogs, many of whom attended the run.

IVVC would like to thank all of our sponsors, participants and volunteers who made the day such a great success! Look for details about next year’s run later this fall!
