Law Enforcement Students Strive for Physical Fitness

To be a police officer, you MUST pass a physical fitness test. It comprises of a maximum bench press, a mile and a half run, sit-ups, and a sit-n-reach exercise that measures the bending of your back. The requirements are listed here: http://www.ptb.illinois.gov/media/1320/power.pdf

The Law Enforcement class participated in this test this year. With the help of the Sandwich High School weight room, we were able to complete the test. Out of 44 students, only 8 passed all four events. Unfortunately, you MUST pass ALL four. We are starting conditioning to make sure we are closer to 50% in April, when we retake the exam. Watch for the results. We will be posting in our Facebook group or you can see them at HighSchoolLawEnforcement.com
