Health Occupations students have had an eventful semester. They took a field trip to Waubonsee Community College in which with they got to tour the various health career programs offered at the Aurora health campus. This experience allowed them to speak with faculty and currently enrolled students. They also had the unique experience of going to a medical school cadaver lab in which they learned about the variety of alternative medical specialty careers and participated in a hands-on lab experience.

Back in the classroom, the students have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming HOSA competition. After the preliminary rounds of testing the following students have progressed to compete at the state HOSA competition later this spring: Sierra F. of Sandwich High School, Madison L. of Sandwich High School, and Dominic E. of Plano High School. They are also preparing to get out next semester to job shadow at the local hospital as well as an array of health care facilities.
