Starting off second semester, the first-year students started learning about the electrical components of a vehicle, while second-year students are learning about transmissions and their components.

In the month of February, Auto Tech students from both AM & PM will compete in two competitions. On February 10th, selected students will go to the High School Skills Competition at Waubonsee in Sugar Grove. There they will compete with four other vocational schools in the district in events ranging from diagnosing problems on a vehicle to identifying the fluids in a vehicle. The selected students are Joe J. and Noah M. (both Plano), Evan B., Garret B., and Brandon N. (all Sandwich).

The weekend of February 24th, two teams from both AM & PM will be competing in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center & Hotel where they will disassemble and then reassemble an engine in a certain amount of time. The AM team members are Javen W., Austin K., and Michael Z. (all Yorkville), and Jackson R. and Jake F. (both HBR). The PM team members are Gabrielle W., Danny H., and Nathan B. (all Sandwich), Nic B. (Newark), and Lukas S. (Yorkville). Both teams have been working hard practicing to disassemble and reassemble since early November.

We wish our teams the best of luck in the competitions!
