It is the end of the school year and we are finishing up the final projects in Auto Body. We are wrapping up the 1916 Jeffery fire truck. All the gold leaf is in place; just needs pinstriping outlines and we can call it done.

We had a little fun with our Graphic Design class for a day of art. We brought in eight automotive artists, sign painters, pinstripers and custom painters. We invited the Graphic Design class on down and got to try our hand at some pinstriping. All the students in both classes got a chance to put a brush in their hand and paint. The artists that came out are all part of the Chicago Brushmasters and wanted to spend a day teaching their love of the pinstriping art to high school kids. Both classes had a good time and it was great to see students try something new that we have not done in our Auto Body class yet.

While we wrap up this busy year, we would like to thank all the customers that asked us to complete work on their cars, and allow our students the chance to learn on customer vehicles.  We have worked on over 10 cars this year.

We would also like to thank the Chicago Brushmasters for allowing our students to paint the backgrounds used at this year’s World of Wheels event. The art work done on these panels helped to raise over $55,000. The full 100% of the proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities to help families stay together while their child goes through illnesses.
