After a busy holiday season, the welding students are back in the shop, working hard! Second-year students are currently doing their MIG (metal inert gas) welding coupons for vertical and overhead positions. Once they finish those, they will work on heavy multi-pass MIG welding. Along with learning welding skills, they are learning basic machining operations on a vertical mill and lathe.

First-year students have switched to gas welding and brazing. This will help them transition successfully into TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding. All the students are also creating Valentine presents for family and friends.
