Health Occupation students have had an eventful semester thus far. Caroline P. of Yorkville qualified and competed at the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) state competition hosted in Springfield, Illinois from March 13th through March 15th. Caroline took 7th place in the state in her healthcare event!

The Health Occupation students are now actively job shadowing at the local hospital and other local healthcare facilities. Both classes did a remarkable job on their Body Cavity team competition. They have also participated in teaching the preschoolers during Preschool Career Day. As the end of the semester is approaching they are finishing up the last of their Medical Terminology unit and will continue to job shadow, as well as continue to have a variety of speakers from various health fields speak to them regarding their careers.
