DeKalb County Community Foundation Awards Grants to IVVC
Indian Valley Vocational Center (IVVC) has been awarded two grants by the DeKalb County Community Foundation.
At a May 9 grant reception in Sycamore, a check in the amount of $2,497 was received from the Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP), a youth-led program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The grant will fund purchases of hazmat training suits, a gas meter, hoses, sprayers, and other supplies that IVVC Fire Science students will use for hazardous materials training, under the supervision of their instructor, Chief Jake Pruski.
A grant in the amount of $1,750 was received at a grant reception on May 20. These funds will support the purchase of a sit-to-stand lift for the IVVC Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program. Students will use the sit-to-stand lift to practice patient standing transfers, one of the 21 performance skills required to achieve CNA certification.
IVVC wishes to express their sincere gratitude to DeKalb County Community Foundation for their support!
