Beyond Basic Skills: Students to Restore Lawn Tractor, Repaint Motorcycles
Auto Body is in full swing once again. As we begin our new year we are learning the basic skills to begin working on customer vehicles. So far we have focused on learning to repair minor dents and scratches on flat panels as well as on fenders. We will begin to take customer work in the coming weeks.
Our first outside project is a lawn tractor for a customer that is restoring it for his father. Students have been working hard to prepare the parts for paint and will be getting those completed soon. We are also looking at some not so typical projects this year. We just started working on a couple of mailboxes as well, and before long the students will begin their custom cup project.
This year we are looking for some motorcycle projects for the winter months when here in Illinois the bikes are put away for the season. If you are looking to have your motorcycle repainted in a single color or simple graphics, the IVVC Auto Body class is here to help!
