Students Explore Careers, Gain Knowledge to Work in Healthcare
Health Occupations students have been busy learning a variety of skills and gaining knowledge needed to work in any healthcare career.
Students explored aspects of the history of healthcare careers, and created projects about their favorite healthcare careers. They have completed their unit on patient safety as well as infection control. The IVVC Fire Science class assisted with patient safety training, allowing the Health Occupations students hands-on experiences with extinguishing a fire! Also, Healthcare Provider CPR Certifications have been earned.
Health Occupation students are currently learning medical terminology and will soon master vital sign skills.
Students had the opportunity to tour Waubonsee Community College Health Campus, and also visited the local Health Department. They participated in a Q&A session with a panel of professionals in various healthcare careers.
