Students Recondition Car for Single Parent
Four Indian Valley Vocational Center students enrolled in the Auto Technology program recently used their skills to help a single parent in need.
A donated 1995 Olds Cutlas Supreme has been reconditioned and gifted, thanks to the students, and sponsors Whittaker Salvage, who donated an engine, and Denise Curran, who defrayed the cost of parts.
The students worked diligently on this project. The job required them to remove and replace the engine, replace all brake and fuel lines, replace all gaskets on the engine, diagnose and repair air conditioning, and finally to detail the car.
The students were very motivated to finish the car, knowing the recipient needed it for daily transportation to and from work.
