Practice Makes Proficient in CNA Skills
The students of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program have been very busy the past few months getting ready for clinicals, which begin on return from winter break. The students have become proficient in making occupied and unoccupied beds, transferring residents, bathing, oral care, and with the group effort of students from EMS and Law Enforcement, the CNA students have done some great shaving and nail care. Learning to feed the residents, as well as showering and dressing them, is on the radar as we speak.
We look forward to January, when we go to Hillside Rehab and Care Center in Yorkville to start using our skills on the residents that live there. We are excited to give back to our community and make a difference. Our students are working hard, so that at the end of the year, they will be ready to take the CNA certification exam offered by the State of Illinois.
