Using Every Opportunity to Train
As EMS wrapped up their year, we finished strong and worked together with the Fire Science program to make use of every opportunity to train that we could. We couldn't have gotten through the year without the motivation and help from our instructors and our fellow classmates. This year was a great learning opportunity and helped us come together to strengthen one another when needed.
One of our last major practicals involved vehicle extrication and removing patients from wrecked cars. We worked with Fire Science and learned patient assessments and care while the patient was still entangled in the car, while Fire Science students learned to use the jaws of life and other tools to cut the cars away from our patients and safely remove the patients.
