We are Learning Fire Behavior in Fire Science!
The students from Fire Science, EMS, and Construction Trades got to see how a fire burns in a house. Fire Science uses a model house called a Palmer Dollhouse to light on fire and show how heat, smoke, and fire can travel through a home. As the fire grows, the Fire Science students learn how a flow path can influence a fire in both good and bad ways.
Fire Science works with the Construction Trades program every fall at the beginning of the school year to have the Palmer Dollhouse built. This is a great collaborative effort between the two programs. The first-year Construction Trades students get to learn how to use all their power equipment to build the dollhouses.
