Persevering, and Happy to Be Here!
Things sure look a lot different this year.
Masks, social distancing, hand sanitizer...so many things to add to our daily routine. To be honest, I was a little nervous to see what this year would look like, but after the first day of school with the students, I couldn’t be more proud of how seriously these kids are taking the new normal.
As an instructor, the thought of not seeing students was devastating. After all, they are why we do what we do. We love students and we love to pass on knowledge that may someday help them. So needless to say, when we got word that we’d be in the classroom, and there was a way we could do that safely, we were thrilled! Each classroom has made changes to accommodate social distancing, we all have our designated “sanitation stations”, and administration and staff have worked hard to develop systems for making sure all classrooms, hallways and bathrooms stay sanitized. Both teachers and students are adapting well, so now, let the learning begin!
We have so much to teach, and we have a new way of doing it. The kids have been adjusting beautifully to the new system. They seem to be glad to be back at IVVC. It is so nice to see how well they have taken to their new day-to-day. Each student is happy to be present and ready to participate.
We have lots of work to do this year, and we will keep on persevering through whatever each day brings. The year may look a lot different, but we are so happy to be here!
