Emergency Medical Services
Instructor: Sarah Speerly
Hi, my name is Sarah Speerly. I have been teaching here at IVVC since 2015. I am a licensed IL Paramedic, a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic, a certified firefighter and an IDPH EMS Lead Instructor. I also carry certifications for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and AHA CPR Instructor. I have been in Fire and EMS for over 10 years and graduated on the Dean's List from Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services EMS Academy through SouthArk Community College in El Dorado, Arkansas. After graduating, I spent several years working as a paramedic in central Arkansas. I have worked on several local fire departments here in IL. I also achieved the rank of Captain at West Pulaski Fire Department in Little Rock Arkansas where I retired from to start the EMS program here at IVVC 5 years ago. I choose to teach because I love to see the next generation of first responders grow and to fuel their passion for helping others. I want to give them every opportunity to enter the field prepared and skilled.
