Welcome to Computer Programming and Gaming Technologies. My name is Mr. Keller and I am very excited at the opportunity of working with the class on the latest technology and programming this school year. I wanted to write and include what the class has and will be working on throughout the end of August/beginning of September.
Career Learning
The students have completed research to determine what kind of career paths in the field that they might be interested in. In order to provide a visual display, they created posters which are on display in front of the Computer Programming classroom.
Programming
We will be focusing on Java, and a majority of assignments/course work will be placed online for remote work. I will be posting the assignments on each Monday once remote learning is in full swing. In preparation of this, we have done AI programming in a non-traditional format such as going over sequential, everyday activities.
Game Design / 3D modeling
Next week and into September we will be focusing on objects that would be seen in a video game. This includes food, tables, etc., and we will be working on getting the students ready for 3D printing. We will also be focusing on animation.
Robotics
Our first project focuses on making floor sweepers. Students have made blueprints and instructions for their device. We will begin construction of the devices next week and into September as well.
I believe that this year, even with the struggles going on in today's world, will be highly successful for the students. As previously stated, I look forward to working with them all. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
