Designing Colors and Elements!
This month, the first year students have been learning all about the elements when it comes to graphics, and all about the color wheel! From Contrast, to Proximity, Alignment, and Repetition; all these methods are very important and useful when creating all types of artwork. Then comes the rainbow of all different types of colors: primary, secondary, and tertiary, but don't forget about those shades, tints, and tones too. Kelly F. says, “l like expressing myself in my art and making new friends.”
In addition to color theory, first year students also began the unit in Adobe Illustrator. Students have been practicing their pen tool creating an ongoing project: Geometric Art.
Second year students have been starting to work on their “It’s All About Perspective” project. Just by using shapes, they are able to create their own little 3D world right in Adobe Illustrator. The graphics school store has been very active as well! Many orders are coming in for several classes here at IVVC.
In addition to class work, the Sandwich Lions Club asked all the students to create posters for the Franklin Mall Donation Drive again this year. Total success!!! Each student had a design submitted and approved for use for this drive, so keep your eyes open around town! You should find their work hanging in store windows and on social media soon! Kaiden G., a second year student, submitted a design for the Plano Bologna Sandwich Event that was held October 24th...and he won!! He was able to attend the event and meet the Sandwich Chamber President, Geri Benning. Look for his design on social media too!
It has been a pretty creative month for all of us here in Graphic Design!
