Aurora University Hosts IVVC Sports Medicine Class
On October 11, Sports Medicine students visited Aurora University and had the opportunity to tour campus, meet with faculty, and learn about the admission process.
Dr. Beard, Aurora’s Athletic Training Program Director, spoke to the students about the 3+2 program, where students can get both a Bachelor and Master’s degree in 5 years. Students also were able to try electric muscle stimulation under different settings. Dr. Kaur showed students the synthetic cadavers and Anatomage table, which students could relate to content learned in class. The Exercise Science department presented career paths in that field.
Lastly, students met with Tanner Rowe, a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach who shared his path to his current position in the Spartan Athletic Park weight room.
We are very grateful to Aurora University for hosting us on campus, and for showing students future career paths and possibly a college destination!
