Aurora Police Donates Vehicle to Help Train Future Law Enforcement Professionals
Indian Valley Vocational Center (IVVC) received a generous donation to support its Law Enforcement training program. The City of Aurora Police Department donated a retired 2015 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle to IVVC to provide students hands-on experience with equipment they will use in their careers.
Indian Valley Vocational Center offers a two-year Law Enforcement program for high school students interested in a career in public safety. The program provides both classroom education as well as practical, skills-based training. The donated Ford Explorer will allow students to gain experience with emergency vehicles they will use in their future careers.
"This donation from the Aurora Police Department will be an incredible learning tool for our students," said Jim Kerry, Instructor of the Law Enforcement program and retired Aurora Police Officer. "There is no substitute for hands-on experience with the actual tools and equipment they will be using as law enforcement professionals. On behalf of our students, I want to extend our deepest thanks to the City of Aurora Police Department for their generosity and support of the next generation of Law Enforcement professionals."
