First Semester Computer Programming Wrap-Up
Hello IVVC Community,
As we have now wrapped up 2022, there are just a few notes that I wanted to make regarding the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year. I want to also express a great THANK YOU to all the students, parents, etc., for making a phenomenal first half of the year.
Finals
Just as a reminder, there are no official finals for Computer Programming for the first part of the year. At the end of the school year, students will be assessed on their portfolios of everything they had created throughout the year. The students have all been developing so well already, and I am eager to see how much more they will develop as the second half of the year progresses.
Blender
Our final project for the game design element of the course was a scene based on weather. Students had to make objects as well as animations that went along with a weather-based theme. There were a few tornadoes, some blizzards, and windy days among others. This was a big accomplishment for the class as they begin the process to have objects interact with one another.
Programming
We have progressed significantly with the programming aspect of the course. We have begun doing animations and coding for basic games. We are also progressing very well through the Python coding language, and students are working hard to stay on top of the information being provided. I look forward to seeing how much further students will grow as the year continues.
As always if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Have a Happy New Year!!!
