Welding Students Gain Leadership and Technical Skills
This year, second year welding students are able to gain some leadership skills by helping first year students with stick welding. Seniors assist juniors with their speed, consistency, and arc length. So far, first year students have mastered flat and horizontal stick welding, but are still working on perfecting and finishing up the vertical and overhead positions. All first year students completed their OSHA 10 safety training and have been certified.
Second year students are enthusiastically working on TIG welding and basic machining. Also, these students complete projects for different programs within the school as well as the community.
