Students Apply Arc and MIG Welding Skills

First-year students have completed all coupons for arc welding and have moved onto MIG welding. For MIG welding, students have finished their horizontal and vertical pad welding exercises. Once students show their proficiency in MIG welding, they are allowed to move onto their coupons.
Second-year students also finished their coupons for arc welding along with in-depth pipe welding, which is a strictly a second-year skill. Second-year students are also working on gas welding and brazing. They are learning to control their heat and weld puddle size with this type of welding.
Now that students know how to arc and MIG weld, they are applying those skills in creating holiday gifts for family and friends.
